These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the website ISLearning.org and the purchase and use of courses provided by ISL – The Institute of Spiritual Learning. By purchasing a course, creating a student account, downloading course materials, or otherwise using the ISLearning.org service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
The Institute of Spiritual Learning is operated as a Danish sole proprietorship (enkeltmandsvirksomhed).
The Institute is owned and operated by Benjamin James Matthew Williamson-Westerman, who is the proprietor, author of the courses and tutor responsible for the educational programme.
For the purposes of these Terms, “ISLearning”, “the Institute”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Institute of Spiritual Learning and the business operating ISLearning.org.
ISLearning provides educational courses concerned with personal introspection, spiritual learning, inner peace and balance in everyday life.
The courses are intended for personal educational and introspective purposes only.
The courses are not medical, psychological, psychiatric or therapeutic services and are not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure any medical or psychological condition.
Nothing contained within the courses, website or associated communications should be understood as medical, psychological or therapeutic advice.
Students remain responsible for their own decisions, actions and wellbeing.
Students must be 18 years of age or older to purchase or participate in an ISLearning course.
By registering for an account or purchasing a course, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
ISLearning currently provides seven individual courses.
Courses are:
Course access is provided to the individual student who purchased the course.
The course must be completed, including the required assignments, before the student may proceed to the tutorial.
There is no certificate issued upon completion.
Where an account is required to access course materials and monitor progress, the student is responsible for providing accurate registration information.
The student is responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential.
A student may not:
Course access is personal and non-transferable.
The ISLearning platform may record a student's course progress and completion of assignments.
The student must complete the required course work before booking the concluding tutorial.
The tutorial represents the final stage of the course.
Course completion occurs following completion of the required course work and the concluding tutorial.
ISLearning does not issue academic, professional or formal educational qualifications or certificates for completion.
Each course includes access to a concluding tutorial with Benjamin, the proprietor and teacher of the Institute.
The tutorial is intended to provide an opportunity for reflection upon the student's course work and personal learning.
The tutorial is educational and introspective in nature and does not constitute medical, psychological, psychiatric or therapeutic treatment or counselling.
The tutorial must be booked after the required course work has been completed.
Payment for courses is made through PayPal.
ISLearning is not currently registered for Danish VAT (moms). Prices shown on ISLearning.org are the total amount payable and do not include VAT, because ISLearning’s turnover currently falls below the mandatory Danish VAT-registration threshold. If turnover exceeds that threshold within a calendar year, ISLearning will register for VAT with the Danish authorities and update its prices accordingly, in line with Danish law.
ISLearning does not itself store students' full payment-card details.
Payment processing is handled through PayPal's payment infrastructure and is subject to PayPal's own terms and policies.
A course is made available following successful payment and subject to the applicable digital-content withdrawal provisions described below.
Because ISLearning courses are supplied as downloadable digital content, special rules apply to the statutory right of withdrawal applicable to consumers in Denmark and the European Union.
Where applicable, a consumer ordinarily has a 14-day right of withdrawal from the conclusion of the contract.
However, digital content may be supplied before the expiry of the withdrawal period where the consumer:
Accordingly, during the purchase process ISLearning may ask the student to provide the necessary express consent and acknowledgement before immediate access to downloadable course materials is provided.
If the student does not provide the required consent, access to the downloadable digital course may be delayed until the applicable withdrawal period has expired.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict any mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies and has not been validly waived in accordance with applicable law, the student may exercise that right within the applicable withdrawal period.
Where digital content has been supplied immediately following the student's express request and acknowledgement that the withdrawal right is lost, the student may not subsequently rely on the statutory withdrawal right where applicable law permits that right to be excluded.
Nothing in this section affects mandatory statutory consumer rights.
If a student believes that a payment has been made incorrectly or that course access has not been supplied following successful payment, they should contact the Institute promptly.
All intellectual property associated with ISLearning is owned by the Institute and/or the proprietor, except where expressly stated otherwise.
This includes, without limitation:
Purchasing a course does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to the student.
Upon purchase, the student receives a limited, personal and non-transferable licence to access and use the purchased course materials for their own personal educational and introspective purposes.
The student may download and retain materials where the course is expressly provided in downloadable form.
The student may not:
The licence is personal to the purchasing student and may not be transferred to another person.
Students retain ownership of original intellectual property contained in their own assignment submissions.
By submitting an assignment to ISLearning, the student grants the Institute permission to access and review that submission for the purposes of:
ISLearning will not publish or commercially exploit a student's personal assignment material without the student's separate permission.
Students must use ISLearning.org lawfully and responsibly.
Students must not attempt to:
ISLearning reserves the right to suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users or the integrity of the courses.
The Institute will make reasonable efforts to keep ISLearning.org and its course platform available.
However, continuous or uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Temporary interruption may occur because of maintenance, technical problems, security matters, internet connectivity, hardware failure or circumstances outside the Institute's reasonable control.
Nothing in this section removes any statutory rights relating to digital content or services.
The courses are provided for personal educational and introspective purposes.
The Institute does not guarantee any particular personal, spiritual, emotional or other outcome from completing a course.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Institute is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the courses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by Danish law.
In particular, nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The Institute may make reasonable changes to course materials, website functionality or the presentation of courses.
Such changes will not materially remove the essential content of a course already purchased without appropriate consideration of the student's applicable legal rights.
The Institute may suspend or terminate a student's account where the student:
Termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.
Students who have a complaint should first contact the Institute directly so that the matter can be considered and resolved where possible.
Complaints should be sent using the contact details published on ISLearning.org.
The Institute will seek to deal with complaints reasonably and promptly.
These Terms are governed by Danish law.
Where the student is a consumer, any mandatory consumer protection rights applicable in the student's country of residence remain unaffected.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
The Institute may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to the website, courses, business operations or applicable law.
The version applicable to a student's purchase will be the version in force at the time the purchase contract is entered into, subject to mandatory legal requirements.
